Ok, So the 46 coupe has the front and rear suspension in and ready to go including steering. I need to mount the engine/transmission. There's no interior, and I don't have a title.

just picked up the sedan.........it's complete and the flathead turns over.....and it's got a clean title.....

wife says i can keep one.........

    I'm torn.

why cant you keep one to drive and one to build???

I've often gotten burned out on a car if the only thing I can do is build, build and build some more- when that burned out feeling hits, I need to get in something and drive(even if its an O/T muscle car, or even a Harley) - that gets me back into the spirit of things, and the setbacks I had previously encountered, dont seem like such a big hurdle anymore.

so now, I have my O/T Monte, its streetable, not overly pretty, but her pipes sing rather nicely, and I'm itching to get building again- but I gotta wait for delivery(hopefull in another 2 weeks) of my next project

I do have an off topic daily, a hot rodded '89 ford f-150 shortbox that's been lowered. But space and money dictate one or the other needs to go.

The o/t truck is sorta family heirloom that my dad owned since new, and hot rodded when I was a kid.........so that stays no matter what.

then the question is, which with fit more closely to the designs you have in your head? Is one closer to your dream car over the other?
Which body design do you like more? or which is more unique? better yet, which car gets your heart thumping hardest?

Love a 46 coupe! I have a 47 but the 40 has paper and as far as I'm concerned it was the High Water mark for Ford style and design! Do the 40 and let some other HAMBer tackle the 46!

well then sir, it seems that you now have your answer!

and to be honest, if I had a red cent left to my name, I'd be asking you about the '46.

You don't have to sleep there....just think when she kicks you to the couch just go out to the shop and work.Use it as a creative tool get get them both done!!!
Or you can tell her that the only reason you bought 2 cars is because you were looking out for her and thought she would want one to.

Honestly though I would have a hard time choosing I like both of them.If you have a family or grandkids you like to take with you I would go with the sedan.

It is hard to make a sedan look good and it is hard to make a coupe look bad.......

  19. Keep the '40 if you can only have one, but I'd try to do some bargaining on keepin both

Hard to beat the lines of a 40 for fat fendered cars.

sell them both & buy a 40 coupe.:)

  26. If you want a custom, keep the coupe, if you want a hot rod, keep the sedan... or the coupe.

Keep the second one for your kid

That actually works, and has been the way the coupe got as far as it has.

I think it's hard to make a '40 ford anything look bad

    that sedan needs scavenger pipes!!

thought about that, but the frost in the ground might make the car re-surface every spring.

I'd say sell them both and buy you a '46-'48 sedan, but thats just me... I'm kinda partial though.
