46-48 Plymouth convt top bows

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 47Plym, Aug 13, 2008.

  1. Just thought I'd ask on here if anyone has, or knows of a complete set of
top bows for a 46-48 Plymouth convertible. I was contacted by a fellow
in Canada who has a car, but no top stuff.

As luck and irony would have it, I was talking to a local guy a few days
ago about the bows......and he said he had had a complete set for several
years, but no one ever was interested in them, so he loaded them up back
in March and hauled them to the scrap place with some other junk. Damn.

Any info would be appreciated. Bob

Check over at the P15-D24 board. Several guys over there have those cars, might have a lead for you.

  3. That's where I usually hang out......but haven't heard any such item mentioned.
Will ask again as several new members have cropped up recently.
    Thanks for the thought.

  4. Dodge might fit. I would have asked the guy if he tried eBay.... even if he sold them for $50, that would have been more than the scrap brought, jeeze.

It sounds like a needle in a hay stack. I will throw this idea out for you. Wildcat autowrecking in Portland Or. has a good selection of stuff. You can do a parts request online through them.

I remember an article in one of the rod magazines maybe 15 years ago where a guy used a mid 70's GM scissor top convertable and swapped it into a 48 plymouth. It looked like a nice swap. Maybe somebody else remembers the swap or article.
