Any of you 40 Ford guys know if 40 garnish moldings interchange with anything else?, this is for a coupe. I'm looking to buy a coupe w/o the moldings. I'm sure that the 39 would be the same, they also look very similar to my 46-48 coupe garnish moldings, since they have the wing window incorporated. Thanks
coupe door /and four door fronts, moldings interchange. Not tudor. W/S totally different on 39 frm 40. rear window on all interchange.
Both 1940 deluxe and std moldings have the vent window, coupe and 4dr are the same front door opening, tudor sedan are longer and will not fit without the magic torch adjustment. 39 coupe and 4dr garnishes without vent window will fit a 40 door but there will be a large gap near the front of the window opening to compensate for the vent window pivot.
you might try the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, Ca. They had bunch of them hanging from the rafters last time I was there.
40 coupe deluxe garnish moldings are a little difficult to find and somewhat pricey. 40 stds seem to be much easier to find.
Thanks! I knew it was something like that...one or the other (sedan) would fit. Interesting...never heard/noticed this. I had gotten some '39 regulators as I had wanted to remove my vent windows at some point in the future. I'll have to check this out to see how noticeable it is...good info as always, Dick, thanks.
There are differences in the delux and the standard moldings also, if it matters. The coupe and the sedan delivery doors are the same so I've been told.
