'40 dash into a '36 roadster?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Michigander, Nov 8, 2012.

  1. What needs to be done to a 1940 Ford dash inorder for it to fit a 35-36 Ford roadster? I really like the look.

I know it's been done many times, but I would really like to get an idea of where to cut and how much before I start buying the parts!

    Thanks,
    Steve

  2. Surely someone here has done this! Maybe a dash FS already modified ??

It is just a matter of cutting and fitting. Use the stock dash as a template to trim the '40 dash to fit. I think the width is pretty close to the same.

A bit like putting a 40 grill on it IMO. Your car. Measure twice!

  5. This is mine. Width is good as is, just trim the ends carefully then fit it....

  8. So, I'm now looking for a complete '40 dash (not hacked up or missing major parts). Let me know if you have one!
