Will the front clip of a 41 buick fit a 40 buick? I have a chance for a 40 but I realy like the 41 better.
I cannot forsure tell you, but i know that the '40 chevy is an odd duck as cpompared to the 37-39 and the 41-48. I would bet buicks might be a very similar condition.
The 41 Buick was lower then the 40. Also the 40 Super was similar to but not the same as the 40 Special.
It depends greatly on what Series '40 Buick you have access to. Special and Century models are completely different than Super and Roadmaster in '40. I have a '40 Super, model 56S (GM C body), and have had a few '41 Special Sedanets, model 46S (GM B Body). I also have a '41 Special Sport Coupe, model 44 (GM A body same body shell as Chevy and some Pontiac & Olds). The latter is not part of the interchange puzzle. I am "fairly" sure the '40 Super (C body) and the '41 Special and Super (B & C respectively) will interchange front end sheet metal. The wheels bases are the same 121.5", and the cowl is the same width. Your could also do this swap with '40 and '41 Roadmaster models. But, you cannot interchange between Special/Super and Roadmaster, as the chassis and front end sheet metal is longer to accommodate the longer 320 engines. Century models (series 60) are not interchangeable between '40 and '41, as they are completely different bodies from '40 to '41. However, '41 Century sheetmetal would fit a '40 Roadmaster. Confused yet. Ray
