Well looks like we are heading out on Sat. morning in a "late model"........we are staying at the Diamond motel on Saturday night. How close is Easy Jacks from your place? And/or have you ever been there? Chris & Jen Nelson
Now that would be fun if all of us went. Descend on Easy Jacks with a mob. :-D Looks like its shaping up to be quite a crowd. Very cool.
I will be there in my coupe............. r, damn, I completely failed to get my coupe back together. I cant wait!!!
What would REALLY be cool is if we have a BIG group of cars that we all stay closer together going down the highway......LET'S TAKE OVER THE ROAD
We will take it on the road. I'm looking forword to this weekend!!! Here's Jay's description again. Saturday April 19th, 2008 Meet in Eskridge KS for breakfast around 10am at Auntie Mea's Cafe'. Drive to Brown Memorial Park (just south of Abilene) via K-4 and 1400 ave, arrive around noon. Eat pot-luck. Party continues at my (NoSurf) house after 5pm. More food, drink, and festivities. Music and drive-in movie projected on the barn etc.
We might want to get to Auntie Mea's Cafe a little earlier, as they stop serving breakfast at 10:30- so let's figure 9-9:30 meet in Eskridge. I and the girls went there for lunch last Saturday and both the food and the sevice was excellent.
This sounds cool as shit guys, but alas my car is just not fit enough for a trip that long...YET. Hopefully there will be a 4th annual?
My brother and I are coming on the 2 wheelers if the weather is decent and the ironhead stays together.. we'll see you guys in Eskridge!
Looks like by my count on this thread I see about 44 peeps that are committed to being at Brown Memorial Park. If you plan on going- please post up on this thread or pm me. You don't want to run out of BBQ do ya?
easy jacks is a hell of a place... i love everytime i step foot in that place. expecially when they let you walk the yards
I will have Kerry put up signs at the corner of K-15 and 2000 ave, and into the area we will be set up at. Don't worry, there are no trolls under that bridge.......
I've got a water balloon launcher. I'll even throw in a can of shaving creme to make them extra 'special'. I like the statue of liberty costumes the 'Liberty Tax Service' people wear on the street corners better.
I was at the Brown Memorial Home today for business. The park is located right behind it on 160 acres I think. Here are some photos of where we will be going on Saturday.
Getting the 51 geared up to go. See ya'll on Sat. Mom and Dad are ready to.Might even bring my nephew.
Also saw this baby miniature horse and it's mom today a few miles from Abilene. What's this have to do with the HAMB B Q you ask? Not a damn thing. Sue me why don't you!!!!
Here is the story of the man whose name is on the place we are going. http://www.emporia.edu/business/kbhfhistdetail.php?k_id=17
Damn, those ponies would cook up real nice on a spit. I mean this is a BBQ isn't it? I bet that young one would be so tender it'd melt in the mouth. MMM BBQ.
