Can someone tell me if this is in fact a 39 Plymouth P7 Sedan Delivery? They're so rare, it's hard to get good info on them Thanks in advance.
39 had square-ish headlights, the '40 sedan delivery has double doors on the back... but the side of the car doesn't look like a '40.. so I would say that this looks pretty correct. below is a '39. You already know the one you posted has a 39 front clip
Its a 39 and I used to own the one above, city got on me for too many cars and had no place to stash it inside or I would be building it now. I still have some original literature on the 39 sedan deliveries and I hope the one I used to own got built and not still sitting outside,I sold it about 14 years ago and if its still sitting outside there might not be much left to work with as it was rough when I had it.
My Dad had a '37 sedan delivery, it also had two rear doors. That '40 (the thread starter) is SO buildable! Please use a 318. You won't regret it. A 904 or 727 trans is the 'gravy' here, best 3-speed automatics ever built! My son is putting a 318/727 combo he just built in his '25 Dodge Bros Coupe.
I thought sedan deliveries had a single rear cargo door (like the 37 Plymouth that Chris at Salt Flat Speed is rebuilding) and panel trucks have double rear doors like the 39 in the first thread Please advise?
Thanks all. I'm gonna try to fine the VIN plate to verify. From what I've read it should be on the firewall passenger side. Soon as it stops raining.
