Hey guys....I am building a '38 plymouth street gasser, with a 383 mopar and 4 speed 8.8 ford rear end. my question do you guys think that the stock factory steering box is strong enought, I will keep the small tires on the front, Or should I go up to a 525 box with cross steering ?

The flathead 6 that was originally in your car probably weighed as much as your 383 big block. If the box is in good shape, you will be fine. Gene

I ran that box for years and years with a 440 in my 38 Plymouth.
