@Zippi nobody makes that piece. The curved rocker, metal floor pans, yes...but not that. It's a structural piece. I'm making mine.

Thanks for the info. Well.....I know once you start cutting you could get more than you bargain for. On my 37 it all looks fine on the outside its just the bottom of the rocker that is gone on the drivers side only. May have to think this over and let the body guy do what he can. I hate doing it but my pockets are only so deep.

@Zippi If you're talking about the part I think you are.....as seen in the pics above you can buy the curved portion. The part it is affixed to is actually mostly flat and wouldn't be so hard to remake with hand tools.

I still have my old pieces I took out. They're no good to use but I can shoot some pics for you and DM them. It's easier to see when they're removed from the cab. Plus then we won't hijack the thread anymore lol

It's been a while and Photobucket has totally ruined my thread.
Wasn't too sure if I should start a new one or recap on this one.
    I opted to continue here.
So here are pics from the start:

Not the prettiest front grill but for $200 CAD, we will make it work and bring it back to life:

And the chop, started off with 4" and then decided to go 5".
6" or 7" like Rudy's is way too aggressive for me. Cool but we'll keep it a little more subtle.

We also decided to get rid of that lip at the bottom of the front windshield, so we cut it off and lowered it to look like a '36

    Looks way better this way:

A Peak of the rear window. Chopped only an 1" for better view unlike the tiny slotted ones you usually see on these trucks.

    Add to the roof:

Are you using the stock heads? Your block is the later version with the boss for the next version of the heads that have the plug cooling jacket. Could upgrade heads by just drilling the holes and using the newer heads. 2 piece rubber rear main on that block also. Looking good so far.

Yes, for my application, I'm sticking to the 791 heads on this 872 Block.
The heating cracking issue, from what I was told on the 348-409 forum, was strictly a service vehicle thing. I'm not looking to race this thing either.
Open motor, new electric fan and a proper rad should help the cause.
Worst case scenario, the shop owner has a set of later heads.
    I didn't budget for Edelbrock aluminum heads. ($$$) ;)
I'll know more next week and will post development.
    Cheers

    Forgot these.
Tripower set up I found for an absolute amazing deal from someone on the 349-409.com forum.
1957 production ('58) intake (like new) with splash guard and 3x 2s Rochester to be rebuilt.
    Super nice people there.
The top guys hoped on to my thread and gave me world of information!!!!
Thx Don and Thx Tom for the intake + 2x 2Gs + 1x 2GC carbs.
It arrived in the most amazing packaging I have ever seen!!!!
Tom built a full crate and lined the inside with foam. Just perfect.

Pontiactripower.com just used those guys for rebuild parts for my factory 57 tri-power carbs on our 327. They even went out of their way to figure me out some jets for it.

Thank you kindly for the reference, but I'm in Canada, would cost me way too much to send it back down!!! ;)
I'm in good hands up here with DSE Performance.
