Progress, got the Howell's sheet metal firewall installed(5 inch recess). Quality product that fit well. I'm getting ready to install the floors and tranny tunnel. I can't decide if I like the Ford logo on the firewall or not ,leaning towards not. Any thoughts?

Cool engine and a nice car! I'd leave it off...It just distracts from the important stuff.

I'd go a step farther. It's obnoxious. But that's just my opinion. Maybe if it was smaller...a LOT smaller.

It's a trinket like fuzzy dice. Take it off. Everybody knows it's a Ford...

Would look good where it's designed for, the tailgate only.

I might consider it if the firewall was stock and the Ford script was about an inch long. It would be fun to see if anyone would notice it.

Terry, I responded to your 36 y block post when you asked if anyone had ever done this swap. I'm willing to share any and all info I have. Be fore warned I have never built a car before. I have had several cars, I have done what I needed to do to keep them going but nothing to this extent. A neighbor and myself have been working in my 36 for about 3 years.
I never started a build thread because I'm going so slow I didn't think anyone's would stay interested.
Let me know what you need I will try to help.

Did you find you had to replace the firewall to make room? Ever find a shorter pump ? Mummert? What did you use for motor mounts. I have a Hurst mount.

Yes, a howells sheet metal 5 inch recess firewall gave me plenty of room. I was very pleased with there product. I used a flathead type motor mount, I bought the mount from Bolin bros, had to modify it some but easy enough. I was never able to find a shorter water pump.
I have a f100 unibody with a y in it also. It uses a hurst mount, I candy see why it wouldn't work.

I like the idea of going with independent Frt. suspension. What kit did you use ? Good looking job !!
