Technical 348 Stock Exhaust Manifold Bolts?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Al T, Nov 9, 2020.

  1. Can anyone advise where I can get an exhaust manifold bolt set..... or the sizes of the bolts? Are they the same a small block manifold?
    Thanks in advance.

Do notice that some of the exhaust manifold bolts go into water passage and will need sealer.

I didn’t know about the water passage sealing!
Unfortunately it looks like Show Cars sells individual bolts, not as a set.

If you give me a little time I could get some measurements.

Check the depth of the hole and add 5/8 to 7/8" and buy grade 8 bolts at Ace. I personally like a hardened washer behind each and normally uy the ARP's thru Summit.

You might also toss the question to the folks at 348-409.com. Good bunch over there.

I always use anti-seized on the bolt threats. I was replacing the starter on a 348 58 Chevy and removed the right side exhaust manifold. When I was bolting everything back together a wire coming from the starter fell between the head exhaust port and the exhaust manifold. I did not see it and when I tighten the manifold bolts, the manifold crack into two pieces.
