** This project has taken a turn for the better around page 6, feel free to jump to there for the new followers**

Quick recap - started as a 32 fenderless 'shop truck' and quickly turned into a full fendered 34 drag inspired truck, that was originally chopped back in the 60s.

It looks like a fun project , and I encourage you too bring your to the pavement, the only thing I would suggest to step back and put some thought into the final wheelbase for ride quality.

Bed is currently 60”. It’s a stock 31 model A wide bed. Similar to a 32 in size but a foot shorter

  7. Love the plan. Made me think of this little guy which is one of my faves! (I realize it is a Model A but the vibe translates!) 5A91FDE2-1118-4637-BA1B-06DEECC79FAF.jpeg

Thanks for the feedback. Wheelbase will stay as is, I like it. Bed may shorten, grille will likely have 4” added back to bring it back to stock height. Bed may be lowered slightly as well. Also will probably not chop it, with a roughly 4” channel, I’m surprised how much I like it unchopped.

    Right on!

@Barbarian when you post pics, if you select insert every image as a... full image it will put it in your post as a large pic.

Can't wait to see more. That's a great wheel/tire combo.

Little more mock up this morning. Wheel tire setup changes the entire look and almost perfects the stance. Not sure if I even will lower the bed anymore, it looks nasty as is. Bolted on the fenderwell headers that not in a fenderwell. These fit almost perfect as well and mask the area I was most concerned about - the narrowness of the A frame where the cab firewall is channeled looked goofy. Now you can’t see it and these go with the vibe. This is turning into a 60s drag/altered/fenderless gasser? whatever you want to call it, more than a shop truck. Hahaha woops ! Party on

  19. Even though you are not soliciting opinions, like everyone, I have one....I think you should channel it more.

Likely won’t happen, but I’m curious, how much more would you go? It’s about 4” in the pictures and will end up around 5-6” once the bottom sheet metal is replaced that is currently missing.

If you channel it anymore you will have to lower the bed .... I like the look you have right now .... The bed and the body line on the back of the cab are in proportion... Also the tire to the fender bead line looks good

    Yea that’s not happening. Haha

Agreed, it’s pretty well spot on as is. Not even sure I need to shorten the bed. Proportions seem good. I even like it not chopped. The angle of the pics sometimes are deceiving.

If I could find some fenderwells (Nova) headers, locally, I'd be interested to test them on my coupe, just to see. They definitely have a wild look on these vehicles.

I love that this is getting a 35/36 Ford dash. Can't wait to see more.

I got these off speedway, around $200 shipped. Cheap as dirt so I took a gamble and they fit insanely well for my build.

Just me but you might do a photo shop an take some out of the bed and see if it changes the look of the truck. I think about 4 inches out of the bed would improve the look

yea I’ve photoshopped around 6” taken out and it does look good, not sure better but definitely good. This will likely only get red oxide primer so I may shorten it at a later date. Going to get it up and running asap then tweak as I drive it. The cab is pretty rough, the major problems will be fixed but it will still be a little crusty so shiny paint isn’t very likely.

Here's roughly 6" removed via photoshop, it does look very good. This will likely happen after the truck is running driving and being enjoyed. But I do also have a roadster on the back burner so who knows!
