Anyone with experience doing this swap? What can I expect to have to do? I expect I'll have to cut the firewall. How much? Will the hood sides still fit? Are there options to shorten up the front of the motor ie. different pulleys? I'm replacing a SBC. I have a Walker rad now. Will it be big enough to cool the 331? Thanks in advance.

I am running a little mustang radiator for my Cad 390 and it's fine, so the radiator should be okay. Also I have seen a Caddy shoehorned in a 32 without a recessed firewall. It's tight but looks GREAT!

it'll be tight especially at the headers. don't know about the firewall. my 34 rails (for a pu) are narrowed to 32 specs. fits inside and would take hood sides. I don't know that you can shorten it up with pulley's, but you can make sbc pulley's work--have on on my avatar for like 10 years now. radiator should be fine. make sure timing is right. I've been told they tend to run hot if timing is out--even a little. my delivery has a 4 inch shortened walker to work with the subframe and it cools fine.Z AC series.

I should clarify, that's headers to frame rail, not header to hood.
