I'm trying to finish up all my half finished metal work on the ol' chikkin' kooop. The original panel below the deckild was beyond saving so a new one from Dick Spadaro was purchased (a long time ago). The inner panel had been torched for '50 Pontiac taillights and (by me years ago) a frenched license plate. I repair all that abuse and epoxy primed. Ford put these funky doubling plates in the lower corners with some of the crappiest looking welds. I could have left them out of my repair but my inner-conehead said I had to replcate them. They actually helped in the overall fab job and I'm sure they've made the corners stronger too. One corner fabbed. The other in progress.... ..... yes, I know the corners can be bought..... but making them wasn't so bad. Back to the shop.
Sure you could have bought them, but you have to tip your hat to the guy that rolls his own. Great job! More pics!
Very nicely done. I agree that you can buy them but the price will curl your toes. Besides, doing them yourself is under the heading of ........priceless. Frank
For those of you that wanted to see the kooop from a different view...... .........and Larry, I'm not much younger than you. And as far as the talented part goes..... do talented people have to redo things up to three times to get them right? And is it reasonable that I've owned this car since '82 and have never driven it? That's about to change. Thanks for all the positive comments, lads. It inspires me to keep at it and post progress pics.
NO DOUBT about it ... HAMB porn ... But the little 3W is ... just BEGGING ... for a dropped headlight bar
Looks great - I love to see this stuff emerge from $5 worth of flat stock and some time rather than a $600+ credit card bill. Steve
