I am building a 32 five window full fender car. I am in the process putting in a 9 inch Ford rear. My question is are any of you guys moving the rear end slightly to the rear to better center the axle in the fender? I have looked at a lot of photo's on line of 32's and it looks like the rear tires do not set exactly in the center of the fender, it looks like the axle is a little forward toward the front. Comments welcome.
3/4" to 1" towards the rear helps center the wheel in the fender opening.. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/centering-32-wheels-in-the-rear-wheelwells.874644/ Good reading, there are other threads too, just may have to search a bit
Never hurts to push the front axle a little forward as well. Makes them look a little "faster", especially if it sits really low. But that would involve checking clearance on the front splash pan and the radiator mounting.
