Yes I know we should have had a bale of hay on the back , but it is summer time down under. I think our cows were more interested in eating grass than checking out a banger powered jalopy. But just thought we would share the pictures.

Good looking truck in a great setting but, Damn, those are some really good looking cows. How long have you been in the business?

Ah, the land 'Down-unda'. Still realistic, compared to our 'fast jive times' in Sunny California...
I long for those times previous, here. My friends from O-Z and Kiwiland tell of everyday life, and I'm envious.
Keep the faith, Kiwi4d... Great pics.

All goes well until the girls decide that the truck will make a great scratching post. I spent a few years working on a dairy and along with being extremely curious about things Holsteins like to rub up against stuff.

Yeah I looked at a 40 Ford sedan that the cows had caved in every panel. It really looked bad

...until they use it as a scratching pole. Mr48 beat me as I typed.. I've seen how they can destroy a farm truck or old car if it sits too long.

Nothin' like having a whole bunch of big-titted women wanting to rub up against your hot rod.
    Beautiful ladies...inside and out...

Yep, I bought a '57 3100 from my grandpa, and he transferred it from his front yard straight to the barnyard, where every weak spot in the sheetmetal was opened up by Herefords. The following summer he put my cousin's 442 out there and a horse found the vinyl top to be pretty tasty. OP, really cool pics, it's snow on the ground here.

  11. Not only that but 500 heifers and each one has at least 4 teats that's 2000 to keep a farm boy busy, some could have the 5th one. HRP

Heifers was the first thing I thought of. Of course, I had just come in from feeding mine. Age definitely changes your perspective on some things.:(

Years ago I worked with an older lady from Australia. I loved Elaine's stories and thick accent.
We're in the South here. One day Elaine called a customer who ordered a dishwasher basket, saying "your bahsket has ahrrived". Customer says "Dew whutt?". Elaine repeats...finally says "this here's tha' parts de-partment...yer baskets hear!".
    Customer understood that.

Thanks for the pictures. Very pretty.

    Damn. Made me look.

  18. For some reason I knew that's what I'd see.... Too funny to me. I grew up on a dairy farm, my Dad would tell people he "squeezed tits for a living", he was great.

Yep, they like tasting and rubbing on stuff. Leave the farm motorcycle in the cow race and it gets knocked over and more than likely the seat chewed.
Now we are getting off topic.

Nah! Just train them properly and a couple of Elementary school kids could handle that task easily.

Here's a funny one. Neighbor across the road has Holstein girls. A few years ago wife and I sitting on front porch watch one scratching her head on a power pile guy wire when boom! apparently wires touched up top blowing the fuse. Cows were fine of course.
I call electric company, they send a young guy out. He said "I'm from New Jersey...cows are dangerous! They'll kill you!". So I go over with him. So funny...they'll lick you to death.

I grew up raising cows, in Oklahoma, but ours were range cows on the ranch. Early on we handled them with horses like cowboys. It was fun, but rough. Then we got smart and started towing them with feed buckets.... you can train cows! Amazing, isn’t it?
