i know im stupid but i wanna put a 318 in my 52 coronet any body have any ideas where to get motor mounts or do i gotta make myself? also i may have a 230 flatty and gyromatic for sale
If he's still open "Mr Street Rod" in Ca has the mounts. You need a rear sump pan from a pick up or van.
Try CHASSIS ENGINEERING for the mounts... There are a couple of threads on here if you search a bit detailing the swap. You will also need a drivers side exhaust manifold from a Valient, etc... to clear the steering box and the motor needs to be offset to the pass side a bit.
Don't forget that when you change the engine/trans you will also need to swap the rear axle so you can have an e-brake. The front suspension is up to the job and disc brake kits are available (send pm to Olddaddy). And NO, it is not a stupid idea. .
Couple more things to look at: http://shadowmtkustomz.blogspot.com/ for the exhaust manifold, use an early "A" body driver side manifold, 64-66 are the best but the 67-73 will also work
