    Chopper ... Dude ...

Don't apologize for building a car that makes sense to you. If you want discs, 4-bar, rack, SBC, auto trans, whatever ... go for it and never look back. There have been features in every car I've ever built that were a direct consequence of the fact that I had a wife and kids.

I'm not going to reveal my age, but I will tell you I got my first driver's license in the 50's and know just a little bit about how things really were "back in the day." Believe me, if the guys who were building the coolest cars back then would have had access to radial tires, disc brakes, and the like -- they'd have all jumped at the chance. Cars were built to drive and were limited most often only by budget and ability. Tell those whose foremost concern is period-correct to go to a fuckin' museum ... or, better yet ... ask if you can have a look at their car.

It is YOUR CAR,YOUR MONEY,YOUR WAY. If disc brakes offend some, it is just thier stupidity showing. I want to enjoy my old car for a long time, ending up crashing or dying due to poor braking is not in the game plan.
When these cars were new they advised you to leave one car space between you and the car ahead for every 10MPH of speed. So you would leave 6 car lenghts at 60 MPG. Now if there is one car space at 60 some one will fill it. Disc is the only way to go, you have to be able to brake as well as the kid in the rice bucket.

I dig you car... but your window cranks won't clear your dash. Don't ask how I know, but I all came about tonight retro-fitting a set of jeep pickup regulators in the factory holes on my coupe....:(

Just finished my 33 Roadster and did the disk brakes with 4 link 9 inch--Posted it on here today and got a little flack but what the hell? I been at it 58 years and let me tell you a hot rod is your dreams and when completed your way there is none better and knowing you got the horse power and the ability to hook hard and go straight and stop on a dime is worth every bit of effort.
