so i have been looking at my 31 coupe and wondering just want the differences are between it and a 32 5 window, ok so the front window and the belt line are, but the rear quarters look almost the same, the roof except the seam up the back, anyone ever convert a 31 to a 32?
While I've seen some creative work done to Model As like the Wade coupe done by Brain Bass a Model A will always be just that. Also, what Harrison said is very true.
There are many differences, but this is the best 32-ized Model A I have ever seen. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=660267&d=1242282299 Greg did MAJOR work to the roof to get the profile right. Neal
You've got the windshield, the cowl being one piece with no tank on top, cowl vent, flush fitting doors, a rocker pannel that extends past the bottom of the door, body lines... There's a bunch of differences. But I agree, a Model looks great in it's own right.
i have no plans to screw up my 31, the body is in pretty good shape and i want a 31, but if i did want a steel 32, i think convereting a 31 would be better then a useing a fiberglass 32, no way i will ever be able to buy a solid 32 body, there are nice fiberglass 32 i know, there the build on here now from florida that looks great.
It would never look like a '32...or a model A once you start slicing it up.Just put on a Deuce shell, that looks badd ass
You can put a deuce frame under it, 32 grill shell, add the bumpers or anything you want but it still is a Model A and there is nothing wrong with a Model A. I love them both. It's like calling a Lemans a GTO. Just wrong. Enjoy yours a for what it is but just my 2 cents.
I think you need to look a little closer...if you want a 32 that bad sell the model a, save some, buy a 32.
There is a gold model A going around recently where didn't they graft 32 stuff onto it? I've seen it a few times here at Texas events.
Perfect example. Nice looking car. But even with all of that work it looks like a reshaped 31. And actually my first thought when I saw it a few moths ago was "is that a Ford?"
It's like the difference between any closed car/truck body style with the top cut off and a real roadster, convertible, roadster pickup or phaeton/touring car.
A friend of mine is building a big dollar car for a customer, and they're making a '32 look like a Model-A! It does look awesome though. Ed
Whose car is that? Does it belong to a HAMB'r? It's the best one I've seen as well. DRuss32 did a nice job on his 31 Vicky, putting a 32 header in it.
The best way I've ever seen is at the Secretary of State when you sell your '31 and buy a '32. Take your name off one and put it on the other,...................DONE!!! Frank
I have thought about this occasionally. What I really like about the deuce is the firewall, has anbody seen a deuce firewall grafted onto a 30/31? I think that would be kinda cool looking.
I talked to a guy at the Revolution that claimed to have split a 30-31 roadster cowl and widened it to use a stock 32 firewall. I would like to see how that worked out... Neal
Install a '31 Victoria cowl, windshield and front roof section onto your coupe for the fake '32 look. That orange car looks storange. Vicky cowls should stay on Vickys. But there's enough people in this world to dig anything.
That, I just don't get. There are plenty of A's around, why screw up a Deuce? Maybe that's where the "big dollar" would come in-but you'd never have the valued of a '32 so what bother? Be kind of like the question,"How do you make a million dollars in the stock market?" Answer: "Start with two million dollars."
he is saying there building a 32 out of a 31, in other words there turning a 31 into a 32, i hope we can see some pics of this.
