    thanks!

The robot made it to it's destination....we will unbag it in the morning, put a few parts back on, and get it inspected to make sure it meets the rules.

Will this event get TV coverage, or some type of web coverage? Best of luck to you. Bob

  11. The more Jim posts about his adventures and trips the more I think he is the kind of person anyone who has the chance to be friends with him should be honored.

  12. My son was part of a team in 2005, the big local event was held at Hofstra University (Long Island). The team didn't go on from there but they had a blast with it.

I live three hours north of N.Y.C.
I drove my 53 Chev. to Englishtown N.J. though New York City metro traffic (N.Y. Turway I-87). I will never drive an old car in that part of the world again.
I been in the city once one. That was one more time than I needed.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It's not that bad, they have been driving there for 117 years! Jim how fast can your robot travel? Bob

  17. I don't want to hi-jack this tread, but I can easily run the speed limit (65 M.P.H.) on the interstates.

Just tuned into the webcast a few minutes ago to see your team score come up after a win. Missed the match but watched the next one. I can see why you are into helping these kids. Great fun! Keep climbing those rankings.

    glad you made it safe..
the years I spent with my team were very memorable, former student members have gone on and done well.. A job change helped me decide it was time to give it up..
Anyone who enjoys the fabrication and problem solving that comes with old cars, would enjoy these events..

given the chance Id go back to high school and quit the basketball team. just to do this stuff.

You made it! Hot damn, show us some pictures of the robot! We're all pulling for the kids, it looks like a great bunch. To be honest, the picture of the NYC skyline is right where I'd get cold feet and do a 180 and put the view in my rearview. I tip hat to the kids and you.
