A while back I posted a thread about my blown up 305. I finally got a chance to dig into it and really look at the damage. Fortunately, the block is still good, so I may have it bored and rebuild it for something else. Thought some of you would get a kick out of seeing this...Here's what I found. This is the #1 rod bearing. Funny thing is, it was #2 that broke!
Those bearings look good compared to a set we pulled out of a well running poncho big block. Ran so good, never realized how close to popping it was.
