I tried search, I know it's here...but I can't find it!!!! I have the 302/ 3 speed in my 58 ready to start. All that is left is the z bar mount! I swapped from a 223 to a 302 but kept the 3 on the tree. I need to know how to modify the engine side of the z bar mount. Once that is done i can install my driver side exhaust manifold and get this thing started! I know I have seen a post on here before, but like I said...I can't find it now. Thanks guys and gals!

I've put small Fords in '57 and '58 cars, I used the screw in style mount for the engine side which uses the nylon bushing. You want to use the larger type which was used on pick-ups from '68 to '79. You can also find this stud on 240,300 six cyl. trucks in the same time frame.

I want to go that route when I do a t5 swap (which may never happen cuz I refuse to ditch the bench seat). I could have swore there was a thread a while back (maybe a year ago) about modifying the stock pieces to work with a 302?!
