Sloppy...I'm running one of those adapters on the T I'm building right now. It's OK but I want my 34 to have the right look. If I can't find one I may just run a stock 4 barrel intake, carb and aircleaner. Make the motor look stock like it was pulled from a car in 53. Splinter....I doubt they had them for the 401/425's. they didn't come along til the sixties and by then it was either 3x2's or 2x4's. Clark
Yep, no 2x2 for the 401/425's, but you could run a 3x2 and block off the center if you want, but it's not gonna be enough carb, well if you use 2GC's it'll probably be about the same as a small 4
I can get all the parts, including manifolds, from Offenhauser to make a 2x4 or a 3x2 into a 2x2. You can use the Rochester 2 GC's or the 3 bolt Stromberg/Holley carbs. Dan Marvin, Owner Exeter Auto Supply
Haven't seen too many 2x2 on a nailhead before. (only once, to be exact.) Been noticing that they are usually built by blocking off center carb of 3x2 intake.
Evel, Sloppy -- I don't want to hijack Clark's post, but could you throw up some close-up photos of your generator mounts? I'm running the factory aluminum mount (a '62, the last year for generators) on my '54 322. It looks good, but it doesn't let me mount the plug wire covers. My motor mounts don't let me run the '54 generator mount. Thanks.
Detonator is actually ran an alternator...i know...i know not traditional...but it was really small and hidden behind my frame so no one really saw it...sorry...All my other nailhead I have run the stock 401 alternator/AC braket...little bulky but you can run the wire covers and bolts to any nailhead.
