Bought the car ...it ran....other day when i moved it out to sell my 35 chev body it started fine then just stalled....engine cranks...fixn to test the coil next. ****But here is my question....the coil was wired positive wire to the negative terminal, negative to the positive....is this correct for being a 6 volt pos ground system? also its reading voltage on both terminals pos n neg..pretty sure this is my prob...need to get car running so i can drive to DMV for title inspection so i can disassemble and get started on its new life as a rod
The hot side of the coil should go to _. The + should go to the points through the ignition switch. The stock Model A wiring has the coil hot all the time and the switch is for the points. Butch
getn fuel.....i even took the cap off, unhooked from carb and blew air back into tank to ensure no obstructions
condenser in distributer is the weakest part , too close to exhaust manifold, easiest place to start.
disregard....amazing what you can do by looking at other side of distributor......gonna order a rebuild kit and a new coil....at least enough to get this ol girl running and drive her for a bit while i get the chassis and motor going for her new life.
Model A dizzy: Check under the plate holding the points. The lead underneat often looses its insulation, and shorts the points out.
