Those headlight stands turned out nice. What backing plates are you using for the buick drums and what hubs and spindles?? It's not an easy job to adapt all those pieces but it's well worth the machining etc to pull it off. It's one of those things where people just see the Buick drum but don't realize the amount of fab work and machining that goes into the job. I used 45 fin Buick drums with 37 Ford spindles on 39 Lincoln backing plates running original 35 Ford wire wheels. It was to the point where I almost gave up but I'm glad I didn't. There is a reason that so-cal sells a 2200 dollar "Buick drum" to hide disc brakes, hahaha. It's a kit for those who don't want to figure it out, hahaha. Build is looking good dude.
im not sure what il do yet. I wanna drive this thing in a month or so, if i dont find any or run outta time il probably go the easy way on that and buy the socal kit. Iv looked at it and it seems like a nice set up.
I already gottin' shit for using the SoCal kit but they look good and stop great. The drums wont fit 16" Atilleries and needed a spacer to work, so tell them what wheel you are using, because they arent forthcoming with that info. Good Luck
I got a great deal or I probably would not have used them, but I got them cheaper than John's Industries or Wilson's Drum/backing setup. They work great and the quality is excellant.
Running 750-16's in the back? I went with 750's out back and 600-16's in the front because I wanted to keep the same tread pattern. It sucks that Coker quit making 550's in that tread pattern.
I believe this car was a roadster at one time based on how it was put together. Im gonna start making the belt line for it this week. Im not sure if im gonna make a die on the lathe for my bead roller or try bending metal close enough to how the belt line was originaly.
Started making the body line tonight. Got alot of work ahead of me but in the end i think it will be worth it
