Early mopars usually had a tag on one of the A pillars with a serial number embosed into it. The engine number was susually repeated on the frame frame rail. Look above the rear axle location on the driver's side. You might have to do wuite a bit oa wire wheelig to see anything. But it this is prior to Chryslers take of the above may not be true. I believe 28 was the first year of Chryslers ownership of DB. If Chrysler engine number should begin wit a "C"

Just did a google on 1929 Chrysler serial number. The '29 Chrysler Imperial site says serial number should be above instrument panel.

  7. Even though Chrysler bought Dodge in 1928 the Dodge serial numbers were not the same as Chrysler. The FEDCO system that Chrysler used around that time - which is the numbers above the dash - was only used by Dodge in 1930. From 1931 they had the number on the A pillar. Assuming this is a pre 1930 Dodge - according to The Standard Catalog the Dodge serial number- in the 1928-29 era - is on the toe board below the steering column and also on the frame on the right side below the fender. Looks like both of these might be not there on this one.
