Hello. so go to the post office today and pick up my new roadster sub rails, got them home, and they look off! my original cross rail is also to wide for the new rail, is this how they are made now ? or are they boxed wrong ? or ? any help would be great hoping to have it done by summer thnx <
Sound's like someone may have used the subrail out of a coupe in your roadster. Or maybe they used the wide cross rail from a coupe, and modified the roadster subrail to fit. The one wide cross and two narrow rails are unique to the coupe. All the other body styles use three narrow rails...
HI; Are you sure your old subrails are roadster??, They look more like 1930-31 coupe, with the wide front cross channel and the ford sill plate Later kb
That would explain alot, I got a big pile of parts ,and not sure what everything is yet and this was bolted to 28-29 cowl, but you guys are helping me learn this stuff, now i was going to use the old ones (now being the incorrect ones) as templates to drill holes. Now were am I going to find the correct locations to drill holes in the new rails now ? anyone have a junk pair as a guide ?
So are the cross rails on the subframe 28-29 roadster specific ? or are they the same as 28-29 coupe ? aswell
The front cross rails on 28-29 coupes 28-31 2 door sedans 28-31 roadsers 28-31 phaetons Are 4-7/16"wide 30-31 coupes are 5-7/8" wide all the rear ones are the same 3-7/16" wide you could use the front one you have if you not going to use stock floor/ curtain pan under the front seat Later kb
