2867 cubic inches

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by James D, Feb 13, 2007.

  1. A friend sent me these pics of "BRUTUS". This thing is supposed to be a new build, but using an original WW1 era 47 litre (2867"!) Zeppelin airship engine, and chain drive, for added danger.

It is a lesson in I CAN DO THIS but I would have liked to have seen a firewall and not the backyard behind the engine.

The builder needs a lesson in History and Aethetics, that is the ugliest piece of shit I have seen in a long time. Look at Cupid Hornsteads car.

There is not a single redeaming line on the car. What a waste of such a great drivetrain.

-Nope. It's a merchant marine ship engine, those pics have been floating around the 'net for a while. I forget the specs, but it's something like 110,000 cubic inches displacement, and some 1.5 million horsepower... at a top speed of 140 RPM. I might be off on those numbers, I'll have to see if I can find the page.

    Doc.
