One of the reasons why a build like this takes as long as it does is little details like this.
You get out in the shop and time just seems to disappear :D

I had to route my e brake cables such that they would be clear of the exhaust and driveshaft.

I started with a pair of rubber block type exhaust hangers and removed the steel rods so that I could use them to hold and guide the cables.
I also slipped some rubber hose over the cables and used a little shrink wrap on them to protect the cables and also the chrome where they pass over the lower wishbones.

I then fabricated a nice little bracket to mount them.
From the support bracket it’s a straight shot to the trans mount hand brake.

After that everything was bolted in place and I moved the suspension up to the bump stops and as far down as it would go to see if there was any pull on the cables or any contact points.

    It all worked perfectly.

Then I started bending 5/16” ni-cop lines for the transmission cooler.

Got a package in the mail today and I’m impressed with the quality of these Marman exhaust joints.
They came with Remflex type sealing rings for insuring a truely leak free joint.
    Perfect.
    My weekend is set

Marman joints installed on one side.
I’m so happy with the way they fit and line up.

So easy to assemble and I will know for sure they will seal and not leak.
    Big improvement.

Spent a little time today bending transmission cooler lines and I’ll pick up a bunch of different sizes of Made for you T clamp line clamps tomorrow.
Exhaust goes to the coater tomorrow too.

They make a nice product and I’ll use them for brake lines and everything else.
I have to make line support brackets that will be part of the transmission cooler mount, then it too can be powder coated.

Chipping away. Looks fantastic. This is a tough stage, cuz you can put 5 or 6 hours in, and non car people look at all your progress and don't see anything that's changed. But we on here do. Keep it up,

After some creative bending I’ve got the ni-cop transmission cooler lines bent up and in place.
Don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t need a bender for this stuff you certainly do in 5/16” size and I believe that if you want to do a nice job on smaller lines (like brake lines) you’d be better off using a bender especially if you want tight bends.

All the line clamps are in place and the lines terminate so that a 3” piece of rubber hose will make the final connection.

Each side has a mount for the line off the transmission cooler mount also.

Almost time to powder coat the mount.

Nice job, and I agree completely regarding benders, I've been buying various versions for 30 years. The Ridgid style are my preferred ones, but they all have their place.

Thanks, I'm going at it, the better part of 2 of those years were lost due to health issues that are gone for good now.
The plan is to try and drive it this summer, even if it's late summer. :D

I took the transmission cooler mount and another small part to the powder coater yesterday and the exhaust is almost done with the new ceramic coating so , this upcoming 4 day weekend should show some more progress.

That's gonna be a tough pull Blue, all my real friends have gone to that great hot rod garage up above and are waiting for me to join them, sure hope I don't disappoint them, they say it could go either way.
Let's see Edmonton to Portland is 958 miles, hmmm.

Welcome to spring in Alberta  :D
First thing I did this morning was to get out my Stihl backpack blower and clear my driveway and sidewalk of 2” of fluffy snow.
-12 c , getting a little bit tired of it by now.

But seriously the nice weather which will see the snow disappear is coming very soon.
Just have to be patient :D

Newly re-ceramic coated exhaust, Porter mufflers and the Marman joints showing the Remflex sealing ring.
Those exhaust joints are a thing of beauty.

And of course I’ll include the rear end glamour shot :D

82 is approaching too hot for this guy. I’ve spent July and August in the Dallas area a few times in the past few years and I had a hard time with it.
Especially when the condenser in my truck sprung a leak and I had to run around for 3 days without AC when it was 105.

Enjoy it Fred just remember that you’re headed towards even hotter and even more humidity :D
