You got it on page 8 lol man you guys talked about painting that thing for like 30 pages lol

Just says it’s from griffin, is it custom or off the shelf? Looks like something I might need down the road

It’s custom built to order, basically a shorter A radiator.
Once I cut down my rad shell I ordered the rad to the size I needed .

And then, an exhausting exercise and there’s a partial exhaust system in place :D:cool:

I'm glad you said "exhausting" before one of us did. That is beautiful!

I think the notification system was down when the switch to the different server took place.

However, you have to check the "and receive e-mail notifications" box when you select watch the thread if you want to get e-mail notifications.

And if you have already selected those options but not getting notification you selected go back and hit the "unwatch thread" then start over again with a fresh "Watch Thread"

Enough with the talk about notifications :D
    Back to it.
I combined the mounting hardware from the Lokar shifter and mounted the new Gennie shifter.
Gutted the Lokar stick and made an adapter to mount it on the Gennie shifter.

Then I drilled out the Gennie shift knob and re threaded it to the Lokar’s 3/8-24 thread.
While I was at it I did the same thing to a special shift knob ;)

So now I have a gated shifter and no annoying push button in the knob.

I decided to set up the Gennies neutral safety switch and found the perfect adjustment.
Power for starting in neutral and park only.
Setting up the switch I found that I had to make a .049 thick shim to get the adjustment perfect.
I’m hoping to drive this thing this coming summer but man all this stuff eats time. :D

Looks great! Good move eliminating that push button feature. IMO, that's a weak point with those shifters.

I like the gated shift pattern of the Gennie shifter much better.
I hadn’t even driven it and the Lokar was annoying me :D

Sometimes I feel like the tool man :D
I searched for and ordered up a neat little inside and outside tubing reamer for deburring brake and other tubing.

Inline tube, it came today and it’s a nice little tool.

Well, one step forward and 2 steps back as they say :D
Assembling my exhaust system and experiencing the poorly made and poorly fitting flat faced V band clamps I used, I started thinking these damned things are gonna leak. :(

So last night I put a strong light source into the tailpipes and turned out the lights in the shop.
 Light leaking out of the assembled and tightened exhaust connections at both ends of the mufflers.

Edit: Another test this afternoon,I put some duct tape over the ends and squirted a little bit of air pressure in , the bloody joints leak a lot, not just a little

So, back to the drawing board, I will continue on with other things while I order up 4 of these Marman V Band exhaust connections.
Of course I'll have to re-coat (ceramic) some of it :( Oh well :D

Looks like a good tip on the Marman flanges. Thanks for sharing your failures, success's and solutions. Keep up the pace, Spring is just around the corner, even in Alberta.

Spring may be just around the corner, but the corner is a long way away this year. This pic was a week ago, and since then we got another 10 inches of the fluffy stuff.

Love your build Blue One. The detail you share is fantastic. Can't wait to see you on the Alberta backroads this coming year. :)

HMMM.....Well maybe I was a little optimistic b-bop, but the intent was to keep Blue One on the fast track to finishing his roadster.

    :D The way I’m going I don’t know if I’ll make it.

I spent most of my weekend clearing snow myself.
    C’mon spring :D

  25. The only saving grace is even my tractor is H.A.M.B. era so I still get to play with old stuff, the bad part is I don’t have a heated shop to play cars in!!

The heated shop is most definitely appreciated.

I did actually get something done
I built a bracket to hold my Tru cool transmission cooler tucked up under the transmission tail shaft at a bit of an angle to get some air flow.

It will also serve double duty with a support bracket coming off of it for the front ends of the emergency brake cables

My 4 replacement Marman joints have been shipped to me.
I'm all set up with fire blankets to cover all the pretty and shiny bits :)
    The saga can continue. :)
