I've got a '61 235 Chev in my truck, since having the engine rebuilt I've had nothing but problems. The latest being the harmonic balancer. The pulley sheared off from the rivets. I need to know if a harmonic balancer off a 216 will work on my engine??
Find one from a 292 6cyl. You will have to cut the back groove and a little off the length of the seal surface. It will sure make the mains happy. OR, I believe one of the 6cyl specialty houses sells one ready to install. Good Luck.
same thing happened to my old truck, pulley finally sheared off the rivets. Bought another used one from junkyard, but the guy there welded the pulley to the rivets and no more problems.
