Event Coverage 2023 AMBR Award Contenders

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Blues4U, Feb 2, 2023.

  1. The dig odd colors.
The red one reminds me of the 90s
#8………….I guess you can build an ugly 32.

I dig the vibe of the T and A
    Nice silhouette for the 36
I like the glossy “primer” colors

You know how some people complain that traditional cars have been done, all options have been explored, and it’s all sort of boring? To me, this is the other side of the coin. You could tell me that that anyone of these cars won three years ago and I would have bought it.

    ‘They are all gorgeous though.

I don’t know the photo number, but the black 32, with the pinstripe kicks ass!

is there a thread already about the customs this year?

This baby turns me on. I go on record I thought of this “no-headlight” design theme years ago. I have admired that old “Y job” for a long time. I plan to use this trick on my 50 Lincoln (which I’m getting back next week). Also have loved Aztec Gold for years. Sorry about off-topic for this thread.

I gotta admit, and like said before no real "wow that's a winner" in the group, although, nice rides.

all but the black one with the pinstripes look like they were purpose built to win a trophy.

Some of the skill sets involved in getting these cars to that level is mind blowing, My vote would be the 27 roadster running a flathead. To me it just looks right the moment you see it.

Jimmy Shine posted these on fb:
"We were given the honor to do the louvers on Jack Chisenhall’s roadster which is debuting at the GNRS in competition for AMBR. Came out so beautiful and we’re proud. Paulo did the job and if you can sneak a peek, check out the brushed aluminum louvered belly pan! Hollenbeck did the paint. $ick!" 328923485_857204742019481_1386237726854133912_n.jpg 325932859_835570514679080_2217353350217547770_n.jpg

I'm leaning towards that one, or the Track T.

And I do dig the stance, the pie crust cheaters, the big n littles, bitchin car, but those stripes, I don't know.... Makes me think of this:
