Event Coverage 2017 RATTLETRAP, AUSTRALIA. BEACH SPRINTS.

The Dragens HRC from Sydney, Australia held this beach event today. Restricted to 60 entries it drew over 1000 spectators which probably guarantees another one next year.
All cars must be pre 1941 and bikes pre 1960 (or in the spirit of).
I had a great day just watching and envying the entrants.
This is a unique event in Australia.

Have a kiwi buddy there at present at rattle trap sending me pics also.
We have discussed having a similar event in NZ but are thwarted by beuracracy (anti fun police) we have several beaches perfect for such an event .but they are classed as a road and y'all gotta comply with Govt. politics, seat belts registration Blah blah blah. Then the local natives get in on the act and want a cut of the action financially , when we are doing it for fun!!!
Need to find a supportive local community group. Man we have a perfect beach 3 miles from home ,even has a return road, long hard and fast. The anti fun police simply step in and say woah you cant do that.

 

This beach is able to be driven on with a permit. They hired 500 metres of it and it looked like it is a couple of kilometres long. The locals are very much in favour as it brings a lot of income to the town.
