Picking one out of the 42 entry's had to be tough as there were many fine builds
which I saw up close. Congrats to the winner.

Of note, in 2005 the HROTY did not include the road run and drag strip. The first under the current criteria was 2006. The drag racing was supposed to be a round robin elimination, with a winner. Road trip on Friday, racing on Saturday. I planned on that. Was going to flip QC gears at hotel, put the cold plugs in it, and had two bottles of NOS. I did the road trip on Mickey drag radials. Then, they predicted rain for Saturday. Bill Goodwill had everyone make one hit Friday just in case. And that's the format they stuck with. A bit of history......

I'd have been screwed w/round robin, lol. Winged 'er a little hard on the burn out and schwinged the alt. belt. Jumped out, threw it in the trunk and ran. Water pump was still hooked up so no biggy. I def. lost that round:D

Got to be quick off the line with the smartass comments on this site! One of the many beneficial aspects of the HAMB is the excellent humour!

  13. Hilton had this car and others at Roundup this year. Driven to Austin and back. Pretty impressive cars.

I have only seen this 1X at a car show, man shows up with a 70? Chevelle, BBC, flapper hood, hottest production line chevelle built, beautiful car, rolls car out of trailer with bubble wrap on tires. As I'm observing them jack up the car to remove bubble wrap off tires, had to ask, why ? The bubble wrap. Gentleman takes the time to school me on Bloomington Gold and other shows of that type, points are deducted if tits are off tires, also car is never started with a few exceptions, then only for a minute to prove it runs. Being the country pumpkin I am, said, WOW, Kool Car, walked away thinking what a waste of $$$, effort AND, Can't drive it, Don't get it, Cars are for driving, BUT to each their own said the farmer as he hugged his cow. (A Wisconsin expression)
