That's quite a controversal question over here, as to be accepted into the Aus SR Nats it needs to have a chassis or have enough modification points to allow it in. So therefore there isn't the number of Aussie cars at this show.

There is a few, & those sloper's were the Aussie answer to a halfway between tudors & coupes from '35 (in Chev) to about '40. Happy to be corrected here!

I spent Sunday at the show, caught up with a few friends & had a good day, aside from being a bit crook...

Do most Australian's dress their boys in pink ???:D

Great photos everyone. I'm pleasently surprised to see so many traditional styled rod and customs at the "nationals". Our ratio here would be alot smaller.

I've hear the next nats is in 2013 and in Queensland. Does anyone know exactly where in Queensland it will take place? and it's over Easter weekend again too right??

The next 'Nats' will be in the Parklands Complex at Southport on the Gold Coast in Queensland over the Easter break in 2013

C'mon Steve what do you expect a Nationals full of Aussie Utes and Slopers ?
You should have been here yourself. :)

I've seen plenty of Ute and Sloper photos here that should keep you happy.

    Thanks for the info

Yep, at this point I'm planning on it. I really want to do New Zeland too. Decisions, decisions. I love the coast of Queensland so the next Nats being there sounds like something I'm not going to want to pass up. I do believe I might be able to find a friendly kitchen to bake some cookies in before the show.;):D

You would need to stay at the Gold Coast near Parklands for the actual event otherwise lots of travel each day.

How long would you come out for?Got a bedroom ready for visitors!!
Also a place for a few days on the Sunshine Coast if you like sun, sand and surf.

These are a couple of old rods that were at the Nats. This is the style of Hot Rod that was built back in the '60's in Australia.

This car has been to every Nationals since 1973, with the same owner.
