  3. Probably no floating... :( I have to cut way back on my travel this year. So no 9 day trip revolving around the drags... Michelle and I will probably drink in St Louis on Thursday night and then just head to Joplin. Straight back on Sunday.

Hey roothawg, I'm pretty sure that was the hotel we used the first year we had the drags. Plenty of room for whatever we want to do. Good choice Ryan.

Yeah Kerry, I believe you are right. If I remember correctly we were known as "Ryan's People".:D Must be that they changed their attitudes when they saw the number of people needing rooms. Maybe a change of management??? See you in Joplin Kerry.

  11. Hmmmmmmm, if we were run off once before, wait till they hear the Gizzle Hopper fire up right about dark under the awning.....:)

  12. Got my four rooms................whole damn family is coming :)

  14. Naw the "Ryans People " year was at the Ramada, we were hot and mellow year one.

  15. The parking lot of the John Q Hamons Convention Center next to the hotel
should be plenty of room and maybe not so congested as the LaQuinta.

They have a couple car shows a year inside the center building. Just
had one in Feb called Street Dreams. Since the lot is a little bit away
from the hotel, noise may not be such a factor (not that anyone would
have a car that made loud noises:D)

Should be room to set up a band without any problem.
Are there enough talented volunteers to put together a group?
I can play bass and harmonica. Even a song or 2 on washboard.

There's a local blues band called Willie and the Po Boys who are good.
They sometimes host a local jam session and are willing to let people sit
    in with them.

Well I asked a question and got my answer with some attitude. I am into the old cars however, as my ride is one. It just has a modern drivetrain. I would have thought that car guys would be more considerate of other car guys. I never expected sarcasm, and rudeness from people into cars. I guess maybe people on this site think they are better that everyone else. Cars are cars, and if you are into them like I am. You can appreciate all of them. An treat others with more respect, and kindness.

  23. It's not that your car isn't cool, it is, its just not traditional. Here is the text everybody reads or should as a newbie. Attitude goes both ways btw.

The HAMB is dedicated to spreading the gospel of traditional hot rods and kustoms to hoodlums world wide. That’s right – TRADITIONAL. And we aren’t talking Beach Boys and poodle skirts here fellas. If you are into a-side 50’s pop, lawn chairs, ruler contests, and all things that make hot rodding warm and cozy then you might want to find another message board. If you aren’t sure what we mean by “traditional”, then you might think twice as well. If you’ve come here to set a rep, talk some shit, and make some fun then you had better turn around right now. We aren't patient.

Even if you have come here for all the right reasons, don’t expect posting to be easy. We don’t cater to new fellas unless they show a dedication to spreading this tradition of ours first. We welcome young, old, foreign and all – but our original members and our staff expect a certain level of respect and an effort to keep things true and on topic.

Maybe you are an old fart with a past. Maybe you are one of the guys that started this tradition we cherrish. We built this place for you and your posts mean the world to us. Hop on and introduce yourself. This is your board.

Still reading? Then you must be cut out for this, right? We recommend you read some more. Check out all the forums, develop an understanding for how things work around here, learn the “do’s” and “do not’s”… The key to a happy HAMB newbie is to understand the joint BEFORE you begin posting. You want to be happy don’t ya newbie?

We have very few written rules here on the HAMB and that’s the way we like it, but we won’t hesitate to dump disruptive posters, ego freaks, or shit talkers. We are all here to learn and teach - please keep your other perogatives on the sidelines.

    Rules:
    1. No profanity in subject lines
    2. No political/religious/racial posts
    3. No Porn.
    4. All personal information listed on this board is private and protected. The HAMB does not sell this information and you are not privy to use it for your own reasons. Test us on this one and we will bite.
    5. New Users must fill out thier profiles. Every bit that you can. Simply click on "User Cp" above and get to work.
    6. New users must introduce themselves in the intro forum.

    Guidelines:
    1. If in doubt, don’t post it
    2. Stay on-topic and relevant with your posts… OT posts aren’t generally appreciated by our membership.
    3. Gotta easy question? Try using the search function first.
    4. Your life here would probably be easier if you complete your profile and introduce yourself before jumping into the deep end...

Looking back my reply may seem rude it was not intended to be........I copied and pasted the rules straight from the site.

If you are curious, send a PM to Ryan. Its his board, his race.

Hey fellas! The room block at the Holiday Inn is getting pretty full...so, some of the room types may not show as being available but there's a HAMBer here so PM me and I'll see what I can do! Also, our neighbors (Residence Inn) still have plenty of availablity and there's a HAMB Drags special rate available and a block of rooms that Ryan has waiting for you so you can also make reservations there. We are right next door to each other so you'll still be in "Shenaniganland" no matter where you choose. Thanks!
Organgrinder: I'll take care of you...glad to have you with us!
