I mentioned this in another post so I guess I need to start a thread for it.

this is something I have planned for a while, but have not told everyone about it, because it seemed to soon before.

this is not an anti paso, or anti snugglers, or anti maria, any other shite.

I loved driving to Paso with my friends, and the party of paso was a lot of fun too.
This is for those of us who like to drive with some friends, and maybe even have a few drinks at the end.

So if you are not going to paso maria to get snuggled, ;)

    come and try this

    ----------------------------------------------------------
    1st Annual
    May Mystery Run
    Memorial Day Weekend
    Sunday May 24th, 8:00 am
Two Runs In One Day, One pre war (1942 and earlier)
and One post war (1946 to 1960)

You are invited to take your 1960 and earlier
Traditional Hot Rod, Custom, or Classic on a
150 mile Endurance run through Northern California.

The run will start at the historic Washoe House,
Located just outside of Cotati, CA
at the corner of Stony Point Rd. and Roblar Rd.
about 50 minutes north of San Francisco.
We will meet at 7:30 am and leave by 8:00 am

We will take some of the best back roads through
Northern California. You will be given directions
the morning of the run. The pre-war cars will go one way
and the post-war cars will go another,
We will cross paths several times. We will have
lunch at the same spot, and end up at the same watering hole.
This is an endurance run, and will be over 150 miles.
Depending on how fast you drive and how much you stop,
this run could take most of your day.
So bring a full tank of gas, and put your car to the test.
This event is FREE! It will cost you enough in gas these days,
and how could anyone charge for you to drive on open roads.
If you would rather Drive your car
than sit in a parking lot,
I can guarantee that you will have a great day.
for more information give me a call
    Dave from the Lucky Bastards

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

this run is similar to the reliabilty runs I have put on in these threads, except it includes later cars as well.

Nice alternative to the show! Wish I could make it up but well be in SM!

  8. Wow Dave, now you've thrown a wrench in the works ! As you know I am a solid supporter of your Runs......but I also was going to go to Paso/Maria. Shit. Gotta think about this.
You gonna have your usual end of summer date run as well as this one ?

Yeah, I was a supporter of Paso Robles for years. Hell you guys drove along with me for a while on the way back from santa maria last year.

But I think that most of my fun was the drive and hanging out with freinds, honestly the show last year did nothing for me. That does not mean it is not a good show, just not for me.

So I figured, we have so much fun at the end of summer on the norcal reliability run, why wait til the end of summer, why not the beggining and the end, and let the post war cars come along too.

I will continue to do the norcal reliability run labor day weekend.
and like I said, this is just for folks not going to santa maria,
so Ric, don't worry about it, there will still be the run in the fall.

I don't want to take anyone away from a show they like, this is for those of us that want to do something else. And rather than sit around on the long weekend, I figure we can go for a drive.

    cheers

this is going to be my goal. I may have to resort to prostitution to make it, but I will be there.

Any good cheap places to sleep at the end...I'm digging the beverages but if it's gonna be a party a room would be nice (then again I can sleep in the wagon!)

Yes, there are several cheap hotel-motels in the area.
Last year a few of the guys from out of town stayed in Petaluma the day before the run.

Memorial day weekend may be a hard weekend for hotels, I know it was in Paso, and it will be in Santa Maria.

I let you know more details later.

    cheers

    Glad to here it Jim,
Just follow me this year, then you won't need directions, hahaha.

that's why I am calling this a mystery run;)

I will make sure to proof read this time.

    I can't wait

  29. Man, Dave, I sure would like to go. But, Memorial and Labor days are always booked up for me. Any other weekend and I am THERE. I encourage you to add a non-holiday run to your events. I'm glad to see that you invited post war stuff to go.
