why are the carbs on backwards

  12. The earlier ones were backwards. These are correct for High Riser..Take a look at some Thunderbolts. ;)

  13. There's a couple different reasons.. 1) if you mount them backwards, the primary throttle bores are over the center holes on a dual quad. 2) for figment, forwards they hit the distributor more than they do backwards. I need a small carb spacer or crab cap to clear it.

The removable rad support looks like it made the install go pretty slick.
    Nice job man!

Got a question. It looks like there are vacuum ports on top of the secondary vacuum housing. What are these ports for? I thought they got vacuum from the carb body?

  17. Removable bolt in core support support makes it easy! I highly recommend this modification. (Thank you Dale Snoke)[IMG][IMG]

  18. A single piece of vacuum hose will connect the two ports, it's just to hopefully balance the vacuum signal between both carbs.

  22. Trying to figure out the pulley situation. The ATI balancer is only drilled for a BBC crank pulley, so I have to try and find a BBC pulley and match it to a Ford waterpump pulley. Then to an alternator pulley!

Braze a bbc pulley flange to your ford pulley.

  25. I am either going to oval out the holes on a Ford pulley , they are like an 1/8" off or just try BBC pulley. I think I can make it work. I got a lot of wiring to do, I am excited to get that new Aeromotive fuel tank hooked up.

Anyone have experience with pushlock hoses vs the steal braid?

A giant step for...... oh heck, looks awesome! Is that sanding dust inside the hood? Wouldn't want it to eat that. ;)

  27. Lots of mocking up to do still before everything is on for final fit. I will definitely blow all that junk out before it gets fired!

  28. Been working on getting the right amount of end play between the torque converter and flywheel. It was about an 1/8" out of spec so I had to get some washers to take up some space. Also working on the starter engagement spec to make sure it will mesh with the flywheel correctly. A P.A bellhousing, ATI flywheel, Ford block and RobbMc starter, what could go wrong lol

Went back and forth, but decided to paint the radiator black, looks cleaner[IMG]

Also got a new clockable starter from RobbMc, should get the job done[IMG]
