1963 GalaxieVin Info NEED HELP

OK I am looking at a galaxie on craigslist, it is far away from me so I cant go and look at it, he cant get the hood open to get the VIN off cause there is too much crap stacked on it, he said the serial number is 502185465A63L

I have no f ing idea what the hell that number is, he says that is the VIN number listed on his title as well?

He also told me that there is also numbers on the hinge side of the door, Paint IWW
Trim 624
Engine GC

No clue what any of this means my last 63 started with 3XXXXXXXXXX, not any of those numbers?

Any help is appreciated, especially if this is a 406 car??

I've never seen a number like that on a Ford of that era. My 64 did not resemble that number.

 

Well the 62 engine code G was a 406, I never heard of a GC
In 63 the C code was a 289, WTF> LOL

That car sounds like it has been assigned a new vin number by the State.

 

Yup. Probably was. Unless I am mistaken, there should be a vin number on the top of the pass side frame rail right where the firewall meets the frame. Maybe you can get him to read that.
