My wife's daily is a 63 ford falcon with a 170 and I'm assuming a cruisomatic 2 speed it's been driving great since I bought it a year ago. Before that it had been sitting fore a while. Yesterday she was driving it and it will shift into second but it seems to slip really bad it won't go over 30. I checked the fluid and it's full. I guess my question is, is the tranny done or is their some thing else I can check first.
Sounds smoked. You might be able to check hydraulic pressure. But all that will tell you is if your pump is ok
id drop the pan and check for clutch/band linings. also check the amount of "clutch dust" (black sh1t) in the pan. if all looks ok check band adjustment
