Back in the late 60's-early 70's a guy named Jimmy Adams ran a Sohio station in Grove City, Ohio. He had a blue 62 Catalina, I think it was a light weight car, on the back insted of the letters to spell CATALINA the letters spelled BOBCAT. Must have been a Royal Oak prepped car. I always wondered what happened to it. Anybody else remember it?

64 Buick Wildcat 4dr hardtop. I just pulled nailhead for my Model A.
But this car is too straight & too cool to scrap. So will be for sale if you buick lovers want to come to Kansas to get it pm me. Im not sure what other models are interchangeable parts.., but great front clip, bumpers, & lots of nice parts for other cars. But this was a pretty cool driver until I took motor out.

    PM me if interested

On the weekend I was perusing the local car ads and spotted a 64 Olds 88 with 330 engine.

This reminded me that yes indeed, they did make a full size Olds of the early sixties style, with the later Olds V8 of the (330, 350, 400, 455) family. Which means the bigger engines, and accompanying TurboHydramatic 350 and 400 transmissions bolt in.

Avoiding the curse of the Slim Jim or Rotohydramatic that accompanied the older 394 and 371 engines used in the 64 98, and pre 64 88s.

Since the newer trans will not bolt up to the 394/371, this is quite an advantage for the 1964 small block Olds.

Just thought I would mention it, I had forgotten they put the 330 in the full size cars that year, even though I used to own a 64 Cutlass with the 330.

There's a lot to be appreciated with these kinds of cars. Mostly, you can still get a nice one on a working mans budget!

  16. Can't resist chiming in, on this thread. these cars are amongst my all time favorites. Very Partial to '64 Olds', probably because I have owned 6 of them and still have 2. Currently rebuilding a '64 98 2dr coupe. Here is my build thread. Crazy money to do these. But, in the end will totally be worth it.

My photo-shopped inspiration. Definitely will be a bit lower with a nice wheel and tire pkg. JT

  22. Potsmx, I've spent the last 30 odd years attached to '64 Oldsmobile's, for various reasons. But always regret not scooping up a '61, when they were "cheap". Love your car.

My 62 Biscayne. Generally complete minus the interior. That was going to happen this spring but now I've decided a big block to replace the weak small block is more necessary.
