I picked up a 61 F100 Uni-cab short box this weekend. I need to spend some time with it to get a full idea of what it's going to take to put it back on the road but it looks promising right now. I was told it was a southwest truck until the mid 80's, driven a couple years in Iowa, parked in a barn in 1988 (when the engine blew) and pulled outside 8 years ago. The worst rust is the tailgate (of course), the hood lip (the hood sat lip down in the barn) and the roof above the gutter on the passenger side. The floors and cab mounts look great. Attached are some pictures I tool this morning (because I know a post like this is worthless without pictures). Carmak
Doesn't look too bad. Mine was a solid central valley truck but still had a rotton hood leading edge, I think most of them are that way. Have fun with it!
Wish I hadn't sold mine!! Looks like a solid truck! Let me know if you need a title... I have a spare I don't need anymore.
I called a friend last night looking for a hood and he ended up convincing me to sell it to him. I have a 63 Ford Country Sedan wagon project and keeping them both might have ment neither got done. I know the freind getting it will put it back on the road faster then I would have. Carmak
