This is a replica of the car Bill Stroppe built for Mercury to compete at the Speed trials at Daytona Beach in 1956. 1956 Custom was the cheaper body that they pulled from a local dealer, then installed the Stroppe built 368 race engine. I tried to copy the original as close a s possible but keep it streetable. The engine is a 368 bored and stroked to 433 inches. It features ported heads, Clay Smith cam, rare M-335 intake with 2 edelbrock carbs. Lincoln Continental valve covers and copies of the original forward facing headers. Engine made 435 dyno horsepower and runs on pump gas. 3 speed column shift transmission 9 inch rear 3:50 gears.. Wheels are beautiful PS Engineering Halibrand style with knock offs. The car has had a rotisserie restoration on an Oklahoma body. Color is Persimmon and London gray. The car ran low 14s at the vintage drags. All mechanicals have been upgraded or replaced. If you don't like the lettering it is easily removable. Trades considered
