Im pretty sure the Dodge bumpers are still laying in the side yard. If you get to that point and want to try them, I'll dig em out and see if we cant get a relay up to you.

I saw a 56 a while back that looked like it had bumpers like my 52 Chevy truck’s.

  3. If the front suspension isn't welded in Jack might have all the stock stuff to put it back (column/box also). I might have some F100 stuff left also.

Its been 50 years since I saw the first 59 caddy light inserted into a fender and I still like it.

  6. Sadly, no. That was back before the digital age, in fact I was still using a Brownie. A couple divorces and back then I wasn't smart enough to go through whatever we had for a photo album. I missed a lot of stuff I wish I had.

  7. You guys keep this up and I might get inspired enough to clear the debris away from my 53 and take another run at it.

  8. '49 Plymouth bumpers have too much curve to them and look like ass on anything but a '49 Plymouth. And...... Briz bumpers can be contoured to fit damned near anything! And, I will add "IMHO".....
(let's not forget, opinions are like assholes... everyone has one!)

Here’s one I built a few years ago
They don’t need much customizing to make them look great

49 Plymouth it is…..I am not a fan of the Briz after looking them up. I was going from memory.

I did buy an NOS RH Mercury tail light yesterday. I still need a LH if anyone wants to part with one.

@Lone Star Mopar, thanks for the offer. I’m just a short hop up the road. I can swing by some weekend and take a gander.

I found another pair of Merc tail lights in average shape. I bought them on evilbay. Took a chance on them, Maybe I can get a pair out of the lot.

  15. And I was giving those taillights away.
When did they get hard to find?

very similar in contour to the merc light
Pulled these pics off e-bay. These are listed over $300.

Yeah, those are cool also. I'm sure they are harder to come by.

  20. You know, if I would have been in gear, I would be the one on the way to pick up the truck. LOL. My son came over this afternoon and asked if I would build him an F100. :)

I've been watching the classifieds, FB Marketplace and CL for about a year. I found this one accidentally when searching for something else.

I don't "need" another project, but I want a daily that I can feel good about and not be upside down when done. This one fits the bill pretty good.

  22. Same here. Sold my 67 f100 after I located a c10 that would fit my vision. Decent truck, right deal.
Needed another dependable every day and pull a small camper wherever truck. Wanted a GM this time. (Super easy to drop)

I have plenty of time to find the pieces. I don’t figure I will start on it until the roadster is back operational.

The correct bumper is a 2x12 to push your digger with .
And what are the bullets on the AMT illustration? 57 chevy?

I like the Buick wires and 1” WW on the gold truck in the pics above. Kinda “custom” but not too much.

I am not a big wire wheel guy. They remind me of “huggy bear” from Starsky and Hutch.
