  1. City: LaVergne

    State: Tennessee
    Price: $14,000
1953 Ford Customline 50th Anniversary with the 239 8BA flathead V8 backed by a 3spd automatic transmission. Runs, drives, and shifts great. No smoke, bangs, knocks or odd noises while driving. The only quirk the old girl has is she does not like a full tank of gas. A couple times after a fill up she has vapor locked. It did it once while visiting my 82 year old grandmother and she commenced to explain to me that you can't top those cars off. Furthermore she began looking into the distance so I asked what's wrong. She says with the most sincerity "I just can't figure why anyone would drive a Ford no matter what year it is", lol. It is my understanding the car has spent its entire life in Tennessee and will come with paperwork from the original purchase of the car. Including dealership papers.

The entire car has been rewired with a Ron Francis wiring harness while also converting to 12 volt. It has a GM distributor with a PerTronix 91181 Ignitor II electronic ignition and stock carb that both were done by Charlie Schwendler out of New York. Also a PerTronix 45111 Flame-Thrower II 45,000 volts 0.6 Ohms coil was installed at the same time. All gauges, lights, courtesy lights and indicators work except for the Amp gauge. You can see the amp gauge drawn slightly with headlights on and or indicators on. Also the alternator is a GM one wire that was custom built to charge even while at idle. The things not currently working electrically are the radio, blower motor, and horn. Blower and horn are 6V. Radio is inoperable. The wipers are now electric with 2 spd control. Wiper kit NE5254FM is from Shoebox Central

New Wilwood disc brake kit part # 140-12913 FDLI 11.28 Inch installed by Mr. Sins of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Including master cylinder, tandem, compact, integral, 15/16 DIA, W/P-Valve, W/Pushrod, black part # 261-14962-BK also residual pressure valve part # 260-13784. While installing the kit new lines were installed throughout as well as rear wheel cylinders.

New fuel tank. New aluminum Champion radiator. New Offenhauser water necks and thermostats. New 12 volt battery. New AutoMeter Old Tyme Tach installed where the original clock was, Speedway part # 1821797. New u-joints at trans and rearend.

Dash, inner door molding and pillar molding was painted by Redrum Customs of Hendersonville, Tennessee while pinstriping was done by Scoot Malone. Maybe hard to tell in the pics but the interior molding is Ford Tuxedo Black. Doesn't stand out but a beautiful touch once noticed.

Car as been lowered using Aerostar coils in the front and 3 inch blocks in the rear. Also installed a camber kit to keep everything true. Blocks 2405 and camber kit UCAMK01 are from Shoebox Central.

If desired I still have the original radiator, coil springs, bumper over riders, etc that can go with the car. Anything I still have original for the car can go with it. Free of course.
