Its time for some real exhaust. Glasspacks would fit the look of my 53 but flowmaster sound so good. Any thoughts? I will have to run turnouts infront of the rear tires or turn downs before the axle. I'm leaning toward duel turn outs one each side.

Tach looks rad! I have mine centered on top of the column. It blocks out the speedo from 60 and up. But, lets be serious... when am I ever gonna go that fast with my 235 3 speed? haha!

I loaded up the 53 and headed out to the exhaust shop. heres what I did.

40 series Flowmasters and turn outs in from of the front spring hanger. I didn't put on any tips yet, I haven't desided what I wanted, so I ran the pipe alittle long.

    man it sounds sooooo good.

Ive always liked black steelies with rings. The exhaust doesnt touch NOW, but what about when you sit in it? Looks preeeety close dude! haha!

I think Im going to run the rings for awhile, maybe look for some spider caps or at least chrome lug nuts.

As for the exhaust touching when I sit in it, the frame is on the ground and the rear axle is sitting against on the frame, so unless my fat ass compress's the tires I think it will work. If not I will put turn downs on it since theres no room to go over the axle and out the back.

Since the begining I did not want to run an electrical fan.
I found an S-10 fan shroud that fit, its wasn't easy to get in there but Im really pleased at how well it came out.

I am considering scuffing and shooting my 53 with a black laquor primer, then reprime as body work starts/continues, also I want to do my interior in dark or blood red which would look terriable in a green car.

    Any thoughts on this direction?

Since the begining of this build I was going to paint it satin black, I know, there are so many painted that color, I have kicked around other colors but I always come back to satin black.

I have consider painting the roof a different color, but I can't decide, so since it will be a long time before the final paint job, I could prime it all black now while I work on it, then deside if I like it black or not and putting dark red interior in a black car dosen't look as christmasy as red interior in a green car. That being said black interior would go with just about any color car.

Below you can see my inspriration
To the owners of the cars below, thank you.

it was time for a fuel gauge.

Im digin the green too, I have owned a few green cars, its a nice color but it dosent have the additude of black
Im still on the fence about color choice.

crappy pic it was late when I finished it.

Been working inside the car a bit, last night it was 40 degrees in the shop (crazy Florida april weather )

Windshield trim molding, fuel gauge, rear view mirror, kick panels and finely got that dang ol glovebox to close right, I ajusted the glove box door for an hour to get it right, but it's done

Next up will be rear panels and package tray, I plan to do all the panels then layout some speakers and some insulation/sound damper then cover them. then attack the seat and headliner, mine is hanging down only held in place by the interior light ( not working yet ) is there a board that it is glued to or does it have bows holding it on place?

    Godspeed

Lookin good. The headliner is held in with bows. How much of a gap did you leave from the door panels you made to the edge of the door when it is closed? Im lookin to make my door panels soon.

I used the original door panels as my template, the doors close fine without anything touching.
Thanks guys for all the comments.
