In 1952 Petersen Publishing (Hot Rod, etc) held a large hot rod and custom car show at the Pan Pacific Auditorium in Los Angeles. Perhaps the first great "rod and custom" car show. A historic event. What pictures can you post that were taken at that event? Many now famous cars were there. Was there magazine coverage? Is there a Peteresen Pubs. photo archive of professional work from this show? Thanks.
This is one such photo, by a visitor to the show. It is a radical custom '48 Mercury built by Spohn in Ravensburg Germany for a USAF pilot while he was stationed there. I'd like to see more pics of this car. It has a lift-off hardtop. In color the car was white over torch red.
