    After getting the news that the original motor was not rebuildable,we decided to use a 1949 Merc flathead that had been in my shop for 8 or 10 years and we had never found a good home for it.
    We decided on a for AOD transmission and purchased the adaptors to wed the two together.
    We also decided to leave the original suspension ,just replacing what was needed.
