I just picked up new shackles and bushings from rare parts, inc. I heated up the old pins and rubber and hammered those pieces out. There is a cast piece that houses a thin, cyndrical piece of metal that is riveted to the frame. Do I need to knock that thin piece of metal out of the cast piece or hone it to get the new one to fit? I tried hammering out the old one and it doesn't want to budge. Any info will help.

  2. Does the new rubber have a metal jackett on it? If so then knock out the tinn linner in the frame mount. To be sure use a dial caliper and measuer the I.D. of the frame brackett and the O.D. of the new pieces. If the parts are metal jacketted they are a press fit and you can do this by using a large C-Clamp and paitences.
