  1. Those are perfect wheels for that car.

  3. Well, I got the new wheels & tires on the car, I did have to remove the lowering blocks to accommodate the bigger tire but I like a hot rod rake. HRP

  11. Clean up the chrome, add some tasty flames and a 4-speed and you'll have a Hot Rod !!!

    Lookin' Good!

  12. Thanks, I've done flames in the past and I'm over them and it's got a good automatic transmission and it's gonna stay.

If I ever get back to my '65 pickup it has flames & a 4 speed transmission. HRP

  13. Those wheels and stance make that coupe, with a 351 Cleveland it should really roast the rear tires.

  16. Wheels look great on it.
Question: Why do some shoeboxes have the chrome trim around the windshield and back glass and some don't? Was that a trim level change from the factory?

  17. Don,I really don't know but that could be the case because I have seen them both ways.

I just assumed the rubber had been changed on my coupe and if it did have the trim they left it off. HRP

Mine has the trim around the windows except the back glass.
Being I was headed there anyway to pick up some of my stuff, I took the 49 back to California to have Kid Rock dial in a few things and install electric fuel pump, a Mallory distributor, finish up the 12 volt conversion with a new heater blower and get the gauges working. I’ll likely get a larger radiator soon as it gets pretty hot on the long grades here at home. [IMG]

  19. In 49 and 50 the Deluxe model had no trim around the windshield and rear glass, the Custom Deluxe model had the trim. In 51 it was the same, however the Custom Deluxe model name was changed simply to Custom.

new tires/wheels/rake gives it a good 60's look - later when bored maybe massage rear inner fender wells & fender lip to be able to lower rear and spring change to Aero up front - right now be safe in the wild weather

Today I used a SOS pad on some chrome Schwinn fenders that had some rusty spots. It reduced the rust and didn't scratch the Schwinn chrome.....Ford chrome should be as good or better than Schwinn chrome, right?

  25. Going to Memphis for the '54 Ford convention slowed down progress but the trunk floor has been installed.

A new filler neck needs to be made to work with the original tank & the car still needs new gas lines, we still have a lot on small things to do. HRP

  26. ...the car looks great with the 5 spokes, what a difference wheels can make...

Yours is looking good. Saw one recently for sale on the HAMB with the trim around all the windows. I personally also like the side trim.

Car looks great! I’m jealous as hell seeing all these coupes. Really got to start putting money aside and time to work on mine ! Can’t wait to see how yours turns out!

That window trim really makes a difference. Sets the whole car off.
